I have a Three Graces announcement to make <fanfare> – on the 1st anniversary of the blog’s birth in August, I will be closing for business. Obviously it’s been a bit quiet on here recently, having started off with nearly a blog a day. Well, I’ve been darned busy.
The freelance malarkey has taken off and I simply don’t have time to make The Three Graces really good. And who wants anything less than really good? I do hope you’ll follow me – I’ll be writing for Tank from now on, and posting at Because Magazine four times a week. There will be videos, news, features and interviews galore to feast on. I’m also writing for a bevy of glossy magazines and so The Three Graces spirit lives on.
TTFN friends, and thank you for supporting this little experiment of mine. I’ve loved it and will miss these purple walls a whole lot.
Any shoe enthusiast worth her weight in red soles will be clambering for a sight of a new luxe shoe brand. Well, here you go girls. Crisian & MacCaffrey launched during LFW and were snapped up by Harvey Nichols, now selling the SS11 inaugural collection. Designed and carved by the designers themselves in Italy, the shoes have all the main credentials of a bestseller: height, sass and skins. Have a look through these mouth-watering images and head down to wiggle into a pair. Prices start at £325, and FYI: Lady Gaga wore a pair in her Judas video.
I’m still waiting for the summer sun, but when you see these fine pieces from Marani, you can’t help but looking forward to Autumn. A sophisticated shot of midnight blue through a grey-and-white palette – delish.
My friend, Natasha Bailie, also known as the doyenne of vintage fashion, has designed her own range of vintage-style dresses, and guess what? This one’s named after ME! Not Grace Kelly, as some would assume, but me, Natasha assures me. The ‘Grace’ dress!
Her very first Ready-to-Wear collection, Natasha has designed a classic 50s prom dress, with square-neck, full skirt and cinched waist – very Mad Men, very Natasha. The shape has been hand tailored in 5 limited edition fabrics in her hometown of Singapore, and come in sizes 8-14 so we can all rock a bit of vintage chic.
“I wanted to create a dress that brought glamour to a gal’s everyday life,” says Natasha. “Women can wear this style to weddings, special occasions and vintage soirees, but they are great for nipping to the shop for some milk too, topped with a cardi and flats.”
Natasha, gem that she is, offers free international shipping. It does take 7-10 days – but the dresses are worth the wait! If you can’t wait that long, for an additional fee the dresses can be sent via courier and will arrive in just 2 days.
So look out for ‘Grace’, launching TODAY at www.natashabailie.com
I’d like to suggest you add these two to your ‘Favorites’, lads and lasses. And while you’re at it, perhaps you’ll vote for them to win Handbag awards with the handy link at the bottom of this post?
I started contributing to Kirsty Hathaway’s gorgeous BeachTomato.com this spring – beautiful design coupled with handy shopping pages and some amazing contributors (Polly Vernon, Indigo Clarke, Bella Pollen…) has created a real buzz. After all, if you can’t spend all day, everyday lying on white sands, what could be better than filling your browser with the world’s best beaches? www.beachtomato.com
I did that little black and white story on the bottom of this beauty page shot – another reason to stop by! (shameless plug).
Second of all is Because Magazine, Tank Magazine’s website collecting fashion, culture and beauty together for you to stop by and admire. www.becauselondon.com
I’m going to be working with this site very soon, so again would LOVE for you to click ‘vote’ in their category, Best Independent Magazine Site. More about them later!
Don’t think of it as ‘influencing votes’, but more of a campaign to see the bestest bits recognized online… Here’s the link should you wish to vote:
HELLO to my kind of boy: Chanel BOY. No, not the lipstick, but a new handbag collection. On sale from September 2011, start saving.
Boy oh Boy.
It was the Chanel sample sale last Sunday – it’s now a ticketed event limited to the top rungs of the fashion world (so I’ll never again buy that too-small skirt or too-big jacket I wouldn’t have thought) but I have a friend who attended – can’t wait to see her stash.
Oh Prada – another visual feast of wit and whimsy. And some hot sunglasses to boot. Here are the new images from Prada’s Minimal Baroque ‘From Drawings to Pictures’ eyewear project – enjoy.
Love it when a slice of LA cool makes itself over to us in breezy Britain. The latest? NYLA Boutique have just exclusively launched LA jewellery brand – Luv AJ. The statement pieces are the work of LA designer, Amanda Thomas, combining raw urban spirit with a boho sensibility.
See www.NYLABoutique.com for the full range.
Delvaux has launched a ‘heritage’ collection for AW11, a range of beautiful vintage styles that would look quite at home on Jackie O’s elegant arm. The house of leather goods, founded in 1829 in Brussels, has a concession at Dover Street Market, so run along now for a chic slice of history.
