The new show style: William Tempest and Mechante AW11

Last season I raved about another superb collection by William Tempest, shown as part of New York Fashion Week. I met William a few times whilst working at Vogue and fell in love with the shapes and cuts – simultaneously about the regal and the renegade; the ostentatious and the simple; the old and the new. He soon partnered with Deborah Lyons mother to the Mechante of London house of footwear, who now does all the shoes for his shows, look books, and this year his first film: ‘Dia Anna’. Rather than throwing a catwalk show to present his AW11, William and Deborah have collaborated with Egelnick & Webb on a slightly scary film in which Amber Le Bon models yet another stunning collection of unexpected dresses. Running through eerie forests, through misty fields and plunging – skirts billowing – into a river, as usual with William it’s a bit of an adventure. Here you go:
