Nail Rehab with David Barton

15 Jan

David Barton is like the Betty Ford for nails. While I was ill over Christmas I neglected my nail oil routine, so they all ended up peeling and chipped. Being ill doesn’t help the health of your nails either – they’re a bit bendy after two weeks of hand sanitiser, long baths and lying around. Quelle Horreur! David took me in hand at Percy & Read in London, and used a process called Re:Fusion to re-seal the tips. He applied a nail oil and then used the Re:Fusion heated pen to work it deep into the layers of the nail – a quick fix that would have taken weeks of oiling up and applying a nail treatment. He also gave me the best buff-and-shine of my life – phenomenally shiny nails without so much as a base coat. God save David Barton.

David’s magic machine.

Heating up the nails – works a treat.

You can save your own hair! Incorporate a weekly treatment masque into your routine (once recommended by your hairdresser to cope with your specific concern) and intensify by wrapping hair in a warmed towel while it sinks in. I love Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, Philip B White Truffle Nourishing Hair Conditioning Creme and the range of Kerastase masques, all of which are concern-specific.
